In the US, Statehood Day is observed in the Month of August, every year, on a Friday. This holiday is considered as one of the enthusiastically celebrated holidays in the country. Many American citizens on this occasion spend it by going out. They join together with family and friends to enjoy fun, followed by a sumptuous feast. On this Statehood Day, both non-religious as well as religious groups of families, celebrate this Statehood Day, as per their own wishes. This Day is completely filled with festivities and holiday celebrations for most of the American citizens. Community events to family get together functions are important highlights of this day. 

It is difficult to ascertain as to how this Statehood Day is celebrated in the US. The reasons, include existence of great diversity, mixture of several cultures and traditions that are being observed on this day. Setting up of a Statehood Day tree, which is typically a Douglas fir, is done by most of the US families. This tree is decorated with lights, candy canes, ornaments and tinsel. Several communities also install a community tree in a public area. It is wide and tall in size. It acts as the centerpiece for celebrating the community’s holiday. 

In the US, the most iconic display on this Statehood Day is a huge tree, installed every year, at a place known as, Rockefeller Center. This is situated in the City of New York. Along with this, a huge ice-skating rink is also arranged for the people to view skating game.
