In the United States, San Jacinto Day is celebrated throughout the country in April, every year. It is regarded as the most actively celebrated holiday in the country. Several Americans enjoy San Jacinto Day, by celebrating it through a feast, and having fun with their families and friends. Non-religious as well as religious people here, celebrate San Jacinto Day, as they wish. 

This San Jacinto Day, for many Americans, is completely filled with holiday celebrations, which may see community events and gatherings of families. It is not easy to describe as to how this day is celebrated in the US. Great diversity owing to the mingling of several cultures and traditions, may contribute in the difficulty in defining exactly how San Jacinto Day is celebrated. In general, most of the people have a family get together enjoying a wonderful feast. 

The primary dish on this day is turkey or ham. But, some people, may relish Polish sausage and cabbage, lasagna or even roast duck in place of the common main dish. But, one thing is certain that everyone shares and eats lots of sweets throughout the holiday season. 

The traditions followed while celebrating San Jacinto Day, is by exchanging cards and gifts. They also put up and decorate a San Jacinto Day tree. People beautify their homes with lights and other types of ornamentation. They take their children to the local mall to see Santa Claus as well. On San Jacinto Day, people enjoy by attending different parties also. 

Several families keep a San Jacinto Day tree, which is considered to be a Douglas fir. It is adorned with tinsel, ornaments, lights and candy canes. A community tree is also erected in a public area by various communities. Such a tree is tall and wide, which acts as a centerpiece for the holiday celebrations of the community. 

In the US, the most spectacular display on San Jacinto Day, is mainly the lights and the giant tree set up in Rockefeller Center, in New York City. This is a yearly event. A very big public ice-skating rink is also set up for the people to enjoy.
