Every year, in the US, Patriots Day is observed throughout the entire country in the month of April. It is observed on a Monday. In the country, this day is considered as the most enthusiastically celebrated holiday. On this day, several Americans enjoy by joining together for a feast. They will enjoy with their family and friends. According to their own desire, both non-religious and religious families celebrate Patriots Day. Starting from community events to family gatherings, they are recognized as holiday celebrations for many Americans on this Patriots Day.      

It is difficult to ascertain as to how this Patriots Day is celebrated in the US. The reasons are several. They include great diversity, mingling of several cultures and traditions to be observed on this Patriots Day. However, in general, family get together with a great feast is enjoyed by most of the people, even today.

The primary dish of the feast, includes either ham or turkey. But sometimes, there will be dishes, like lasagna, Polish sausage or cabbage. Instead of all these, roasted duck is an option available for the guests to look for. However, one thing is certain that everyone will join together and share a common sweet dish. This is consumed throughout the season.  

The traditions of this Patriots Day, include exchange of cards and gifts. There will be a Patriots Day tree with decorations, which can be seen on this day. Besides, decoration of homes with lights and other ornamental items are done. Parents accompany their children to see Santa Claus at the local mall. They will also attend various parties on this important day.  

Typically, a Douglas fir is set up as a Patriots Day tree, by many families. They decorate it with candy cones, ornaments and tinsel. Community tree is installed by several communities in a public area. This tree is wide and tall in its size, and serves as a centerpiece for the celebrations of the holiday.  

In New York City, every year, a giant tree is set up at a place, known as, Rockefeller Center. This place is decorated clearly with lights, in the US. This is a part of the iconic display of Patriots Day. There will be a huge public ice-skating rink available for viewers to enjoy a wonderful skating competition.
