In the US, people celebrate Memorial Day, every year, as it is one among the most enthusiastically performed holidays in the country. This important day is celebrated by many Americans on Monday, in the month of May. Especially, on this particular day, people go out and spend the holiday by enjoying a sumptuous feast. Besides, they have fun with friends and families. Both non-religious and religious groups of people celebrate this holiday as per their own desire. This important day is full of festive holiday celebrations for most of the Americans in the country. They celebrate the day starting from community events to family get together functions.  

In the US, it is very difficult to define as to how precisely this holiday is celebrated. Reasons for this, include existence of great diversity among the citizens. Besides, other reasons also include mixing of several culture and many traditions that are being observed on this Memorial Day. However, generally speaking, it can be said that most of the people will plan to enjoy a family get together function. Enjoying a great feast is an attraction on this day.

Other activities, include decoration of homes with lights and ornamental articles. Parents plan to accompany their children to see Santa Claus at the local mall. They also enjoy attending various parties on this Memorial Day. 

Many of the families in the US, install a Memorial Day tree, which is typically a Douglas fir. This is decorated with lights and other items, like candy canes, ornaments, and tinsel. A community tree is installed in a public area by many communities. This tree is wide and tall in size. It acts as a centerpiece for the community’s celebrations of the holiday. 

The most iconic display that anyone can see on this Memorial Day in the US, include lights and setting up of a giant tree in Rockefeller Center. This place is located in the City of New York. Besides, a huge public skating rink is set up for people to enjoy a variety of skating competition.
