Labor Day in the US is observed on a Monday, in September, every year. This holiday is regarded as an actively celebrated holiday in this country. Several American citizens, on Labor Day, spend the holiday by going out. They enjoy immensely with family and friends and join for a feast. The Labor Day is completely filled with festivities for many American citizens. They include community events along with family get together functions. 

It cannot be easily found out as to how this Labor Day is celebrated in the US, owing to the country’s vast diversity. Other reasons, may be due to the mixing of several cultures and traditions that are usually adopted on this day.  

Ham or turkey is mainly served during this great feast. Other dishes, like Polish sausage, cabbage, lasagna are also provided to the guests. It is possible that people may relish roasted duck in place of the other dishes. It is certain that everyone will be able to eat a common dish, like sweet, in this grand feast. This sweet dish can be found in plenty and is consumed in this holiday season. 

According to the tradition of Labor Day, there is exchange of cards and gifts. People install and decorate a Labor Day tree along with decorating homes with lights and other ornamental articles. Many people enjoy visiting the local mall to see Santa Claus with their children. They attend a number of parties arranged on this Labor Day as well. 

The Labor Day tree is chiefly a Douglas fir that is installed by most families in the United States. Here, this tree is decorated with colorful lights, candy canes, ornaments, and tinsel. A community tree is installed in a public area by many communities. It is seen to be wide and tall in its size. This tree represents as the centerpiece for the people to enjoy the holiday while following the community celebrations. 

The iconic show on Labor Day, in the US, indicates the setting up of an enormous tree. This occurs every year with lights, at the Rockefeller Center. This place is located in the City of New York. It is possible for people to enjoy viewing skating competitions, as a huge public ice skating-rink is arranged on this occasion.
