King Kamehameha Day tree is a typical Dougles fir which is set up by many families. This tree is decorated with lights, candy cones, ornaments, and tinsel. In a public area, many communities install a community tree. They are wide and tall and beautifully decorated to serve as a centrepiece. 

The most significant part of this day is a spectacular display of giant tree with lights. This is set up at Rockefeller Center located in the City of New York every year.
