In the US, Good Friday is observed throughout the country. It is one of the most actively celebrated holidays. Good Friday is celebrated on a Friday, every year, in April. Many of the Americans on this holiday go out to enjoy to celebrate a feast. Besides, they will have fun with friends and families. Both non-religious and religious people join together to celebrate this Good Friday as per their desire. But, for many American citizens, Good Friday is full of festivities. This is spread into community events and family gatherings. 

It may be difficult to ascertain as to how this day is observed in the US, owing to several reasons. They include great diversity, a mixture of several cultures, and many Good Friday traditions that need to be followed. However, in general, it may be said that most of the American citizens will join together for a family and friends get together function, followed by a great feast. 

The primary dish of the feast usually includes ham or turkey. But sometimes, it may include dishes, like lasagna, cabbage, and Polish sausage. Instead of these there might be a dish of roasted duck as well. However, one thing is certain that everyone shares a common dish consisting of sweets. This is consumed during this holiday season and is offered in plenty.  

The traditions of Good Friday reveal that there is an exchange of cards and gifts. Other activities, include installing and decorating a Good Friday tree, decoration of homes, and other ornamentation. Parents take their children to the local mall to see Santa Claus. They also attend various parties to celebrate Good Friday. 

Most of the families install a Good Friday tree, which is typically a Douglas fir. This is decorated with lights, candy canes, tinsel, and ornaments. Several communities install a community tree in a public area. This tree is wide and tall in size. It acts as the centerpiece for conducting community holiday celebrations.  

The most iconic display of this Good Friday is by decorating with lights. In the Rockefeller Center, a giant tree is installed. This is located in the City of New York. Along with this, a huge public ice-skating rink is set up for the viewers to enjoy skating.
