There are several holidays celebrated in the US. Out of this, César Chávez Day is one which is celebrated enthusiastically by all the citizens. This holiday is observed in the month of March, every year. On this day, most of the Americans spend their holiday outside. They attend a feast and enjoy the day filled with fun along with their family friends.  Here, both non-religious and religious groups, celebrate the day as per their own desire. However, for many American citizens, this day is full of festivities. It includes community events and family gatherings. 

It is very difficult to ascertain as to how exactly this César Chávez Day is observed in the US. The is due to the existence of great diversity. Other reasons, include several traditions and mingling of many cultures that is being observed on this day. However, most of the people will have a family get together function enjoying a sumptuous feast.  

The main dish of the feast comprises, ham or turkey, but sometimes, it may be Polish sausage, cabbage, lasagna or roasted duck in its place. However, one thing is certain that everyone does share a common dish like sweets. This is served in plenty and consumed the entire day. 

The traditions of César Chávez Day, include exchange of cards and gifts. Besides this, other activities, include installing and decorating a César Chávez Day tree, ornamental articles and homes with colourful lights. Parents accompany their children to see Santa Claus at the local mall. They also attend various parties on this César Chávez Day. 

Setting up of a César Chávez Day tree, which is typically a Douglas fir, is installed by most of the families. This is decorated with lights, candy canes, ornaments and tinsel. Several communities install a community tree in a public area. This acts as a centerpiece for them to celebrate the holiday. 

The most iconic display of César Chávez Day in the US, indicates clearly the lights and setting up of a giant tree, every year, at Rockefeller Center. This is located in the City of New York. Along with this, a huge public skating rink can also be seen for enjoying a skating game.
